Funding history

FLUME’s early development was made possible by a combination of investment by the founders, together with three rounds of Angel/ Friends & Family investment as well as grant support; an MRC funded Elizabeth Blackwell ‘Proof of Concept’ award and an NIHR ‘Research for Patient Benefit’ award to fund first in human evaluations at Bristol.

Most recently, a collaboration agreement has been entered into with Well Lead Medical, the major medical device company and global scale catheter manufacturer. This involves important investment in manufacturing capability and regulatory clearances for a full range of sizes, as well as non dilutive payments to The Flume Catheter Company, in return for exclusive distribution rights for China and Japan (on which royalties will be payable on future sales).
